I am finishing up 2 license plate guitars for my Brother and my Brother in Law. My Brother’s is made with a 1962 Florida plate and my Brother-in-Law’s has a 1970 Florida plate. The wood I used is walnut that I inherited from my Father. The walnut was salvaged from a building that was built in 1919 here in Jacksonville. The wood still has nail holes in it. The necks were constructed with the same walnut. The fingerboards are constructed with some old Rosewood of my Fathers that could be Brazilian. They both will be 3 strings with the option of a 4th string. I have to put some finish on them and then hook up the electronics. they both will have single coil pickups and an under-saddle piezo. I hope they like them.
